Our Goals

raise awareness among its members and their local communities about environmental concerns and climate change issues.

encourage an interest in green technologies and sustainable developments, where the green economy is the determining driver.

provide opportunities for its members to meet in local groups (face-to-face where possible) and/or through online communication tools for information sharing and social purposes.

encourage the sharing of knowledge, tips, and ethical practices to create a better, more sustainable future.

foster meaningful engagement within the Open University, the Students Association, and the OU students’ community as a whole for multidisciplinary discussion on sustainability.

work with the OU Students Association to instigate sustainable change within the organisation.

campaign for sustainability within the University and ensure it is embedded within curriculum and organisational decision-making.

raise awareness and help local projects within our local communities.

work with registered charities and national networks to tackle global and local health inequalities through education, advocacy, and action.

work with firms who believe strongly in the concept of sustainability and support students in finding careers in the environmental sector.

share ideas, information, and opportunities that enable the Society to meet all the above aims.
